Department of Washington IRS Form 990 Requirement

All VFW Posts, and Districts, are required to file an annual IRS Form 990, 990-EZ, or 990-N with the Internal Revenue Service.

The Department of Washington requires Posts to provide a copy of their filed IRS Form 990 for compliance tracking and Department record-keeping.

Posts must:

• File the appropriate IRS Form 990 annually
• Submit a copy of the filed return to Department Headquarters
• Ensure the filing reflects the correct tax year and EIN
